Overview

The Seymour Street Redevelopment is a multiple award-winning new mixed-use development for Montclair which is anchored by the existing historic Wellmont Theater and a new public pedestrian plaza that pays homage to the town’s art heritage. The space was created by closing off a block of Seymour Street where it meets Bloomfield Street and adds ground floor retail, art studios, and indoor sports occupancies. The plaza is shaped on one side by a new multifamily residential building with discreet parking and on the other side by public parking and medical office space. The heart of the project is the multilevel landscaped plaza which provides programmed space for both organized and spontaneous arts, entertainment, and both passive and active leisure activities.
