Designing and delivering a truly convenient community takes a village, and that vision is exactly what Russo Development realized in Union, New Jersey with SOL At Vermella Union. Completed a few years ago, the community continues to perform exceptionally well, maintaining high occupancy and strong resident retention. MHS Architecture contributed to this luxury rental development by designing the final phase and flagship, SOL.
Set back from the main roadway yet highly visible from the street, Building D has a strong, modern presence that is both memorable and welcoming. The design thoughtfully considers the Kean University campus across the street, allowing the building to fit comfortably within the corporate scale and rhythm of its surroundings.
MHS designed SOL At Vermella Union at the onset of the pandemic, with Russo Development placing a strong emphasis on details that would resonate with renters working from home. The result is a community that blends boutique hotel comfort with everyday convenience. The six-story, transit-oriented building sits directly across from the Union Train Station and includes 309 residential units, 384 parking spaces, and nearly 50,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor amenity space.
On-site retail, The Shoppes at Vermella, further elevates daily convenience and serves both residents and the surrounding neighborhood. Today, the community is thriving, with approximately 97 percent of units leased, underscoring the continued demand for this boutique, resort-style living environment.
